Greetings, my name is Mohala.
I am a highly accomplished executive with extensive leadership experience.
Results-oriented Technology Director with a proven track record in driving digital transformation. Over six years at Tellus Development, I’ve led a team responsible for website development, social media strategy, brand management, and marketing collateral. Possessing a strong foundation in design, development, and project management, I excel in building high-performing digital platforms that align with business objectives. Experienced in both B2B and nonprofit sectors, I am a strategic thinker with a passion for leveraging technology to achieve organizational goals. Currently pursuing an MBA in Organizational Leadership to further enhance strategic capabilities.
My name and I are from Hawaii; while it might sound similar to ‘Thank you’ in Hawaiian, Mohala and Mahalo are pretty different. Mohala means bringing forth a new life, specifically when the flowers first start to bloom. As such, my work focuses on utilizing bold colors, engaging designs, and animations that lead viewers on a virtual visual journey. As an artistic individual, my preferred medium is digital, but I also create with acrylics and oil pastels.
Please enjoy exploring my site. You’ll find examples of Graphic design, Copywriting, Marketing, and Web Development.
Thank you for visiting!
Summary:
As the Director of Technology at Tellus Development, I have led the website development, maintenance, and curation for over six years. I am also responsible for the social media marketing, content creation, management, and development, as well as the brand awareness and reputation management. Additionally, I oversee digital and print marketing, design, development, and implementation, and I provide software education and support to internal and external stakeholders.
With over ten years of experience in graphic design, web development, project management, and copywriting, I am passionate about using my skills to create beautiful, functional, and engaging work that helps businesses succeed. I have a strong understanding of typography, color theory, and layout, and I am proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and user-friendly applications. I have experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP, and I am familiar with various content management systems.
I have a proven track record of successfully managing projects from start to finish, and I am skilled at using language to capture attention, build relationships, and inspire action. With over 20 years of volunteer experience working with nonprofit 501(c)3 organizations, I am well-versed in grant writing, fundraising, and community outreach. I am pursuing my MBA in Organizational Leadership and am eager to apply my knowledge and skills to new challenges and opportunities.
With over 15 years of artistic design experience, I’ve watched the evolution of software, hardware, and design trends. Most of my technical skills were self-taught until I decided a little over a year ago to return to school and pursue a BA in Graphic Design with minors in Creative Writing and Marketing. Outside of the classroom, I explore additional learning opportunities through LinkedIn Learning, Coursera, and Google. Being aware of changes in the digital landscape allows me to go with the flow and alter my designs to remain relevant in today’s fast-paced digital landscape. When creating, I tend to favor Adobe Illustrator over other applications because of the scalability. If I am working on a social media post and the client decides they’d like to create a poster with the design, I can easily adjust the size without any significant work. This helps me keep my prices and turnaround time lower than if I would have had to recreate the design on a larger scale.
