Mei-Hua Zhào
FOUNDER & Executive Chef
Raised in a small Chinese village outside of Hong Kong, Mei-Hua Zhao dreamed of becoming a chef and moving to America to open her own restaurant. After studying at the Sichuan Higher Institute of Cuisine (SHIC) in Mianyang, China, she opened a small night food stand. After five years of working at this stand, she had enough money to move to America.
Unable to afford a place of her own, she started working for a popular Chinese food chain, but much to her dismay, the food was not traditional. She knew it was time to pursue her dream. Partnering with several silent investors allowed her to open up a small location outside of a strip mall in eastern Georgia. After three months of being open, she had enough money for a downpayment on a location to build the very first TOWN.
Now, three short years later Mei-Hua Zhao is the proud owner of three locations and runs successful traditional Chinese cooking classes. When asked what she would like to share with others, she said: "I want people to experience traditional Chinese cuisine, have great conversations, and come back because they like the food. "

We aim to bring quality and luxury across all aspects of our brand. The approach of TOWN is to develop our brand with the understanding of both our culture and consumer insights. Within our vision always lives the promise of inspiring creativity, conversation and quality. Our audience is a high-end clientele who values a dining experience. The age range of our customers are from early 30s-60s. We would like them to come back for both personal dining and events.
